We pride our Center’s focus on meeting the individual needs of each child, while providing quality, reliable and safe child care.

Mrs. Tawanna Bridges
First Steps I - Director
I am thrilled to be the Director of First Steps Child Development Center. I believe in the importance of early childhood education and its critical role in the growth of a child's social, emotional and physical development. My mission as the center director is to run an outstanding child care center that brings community, family and children together in working towards a better tomorrow.

I’m a native of South Georgia. I attended Savannah State University in Savannah Ga where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I have been in the early childhood field for almost 25 years and I have developed a passion for nurturing little ones and watching them grow. In my journey as an educator I obtained my Director qualifications and generally love engaging in new and exciting training opportunities that will allow me to serve the center and community in a greater capacity.

Throughout my many years in the Early Childhood field, I have taught all ages from infants through Pre-Kindergarten as well as served as an Assistant Director.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as singing and watching movies.
Together with a team of amazing teachers and staff, I am committed to providing your family with a loving and safe foundation for a lifetime of learning.
